Questions

Asked and answered — including the awkward ones.

If your question is not here, write to support@nolara.app and a person will answer it.

Is Nolara free?

While it is in early access, yes. Pricing for later has not been decided — but two things already are: it will never be paid for with advertising, and never with your data. Those are the two business models this app was built to refuse.

Which phones does it work on?

Android first, arriving on Google Play. iPhone follows later — Apple's requirements for health apps are stricter to enter, and we would rather arrive there properly than quickly.

My reminders stopped arriving. Why?

Almost always: your phone's battery saver decided Nolara should sleep. Xiaomi, Samsung, Oppo and others ship aggressive power management that silences background alarms.

The fix is one setting: Settings → Apps → Nolara → Battery → Unrestricted. We tell you this plainly because a reminder app that pretends this problem does not exist is lying to you.

Does it work offline?

Reminders do — they are scheduled on the phone itself, so no signal is needed for them to fire. Recording what you took needs a connection: if a dose can't be saved, the app says so plainly instead of pretending, so you can tap it again once you're back online.

What exactly does my caregiver see?

Your schedule, whether each dose was recorded as taken, your weekly adherence, and any vitals or notes on your chart. They can support — write notes, message you, raise a non-urgent concern — but they can never add, change, or remove your medicines, and you can remove them at any time.

Will it warn me about drug interactions or side effects?

No — and this is deliberate, not missing. Interpreting medication is the job of your doctor and pharmacist; software that does it becomes a regulated medical device, and pretending otherwise puts you at risk. Nolara records what you tell it and shows it back. Nothing more, on purpose.

Is it an emergency alert system?

No, and it never pretends to be. A missed-dose alert means one thing only: nothing was recorded. It is not a wellness check. For anything urgent, call your local emergency number — no app replaces that.

What does "Nolara" mean?

Nothing — it is a coined word, chosen because it sounds the same in English, Urdu, Arabic, and most European languages, and you can spell it after hearing it once. No story, no acronym.

Where is my data stored?

On servers in the United States. If you live in the UK or EU, that means your data leaves your region — we state it because it should be part of your decision, not a footnote. The privacy policy covers the details and your rights.

How do I delete everything?

In the app: Profile → Delete my account. It is immediate and permanent. Already uninstalled? Email support@nolara.app from your account's address and we will do it for you — the deletion page has the exact steps.
